sum of the radius of two circles = 84cm R + r = 84 , R = 84 - r ........... (1) difference of their areas = 5544sq. cm 22/7 × R^2 - 22/7 × r^2 = 5544 22/7 ( R^2 - r^2) = 5544 22/7 ( (84-r)^2 - r^2) = 5544 22/7 ( 7056 + r^2 -168r - r^2 ) = 5544 22/7 (7056 - 168r ) =5544 7056-168r = 5544 ×7/22 7056-168r = 1764 -168r = 1764-7056 -168r = -5292 r= -5292 / -168 r = 31.5 cm ...... put in (1) R = 84-r R = 84-31.5 R = 52.5 cm so that, R= 52.5cm and r= 31.5cm
