Step-by-step explanation:

let the rahim's age = x

5 years ago = x-5

3 years from now = x+3

A.T.Q

 \frac{1}{x - 5}  +  \frac{1}{x + 3} =  \frac{1}{3}

LCM of (x-5)and (x+3) = (x-5)(x+3)

so....

 \frac{x + 3 + x - 5}{(x - 5)(x + 3)} =  \frac{1}{3}

now....

 \frac{2x - 2}{ {x}^{2} + ( - 5 + 3)x + ( - 5 \times 3) } =   \frac{1}{3}

 \frac{2x - 2}{ {x}^{2} - 2x - 15 }  =  \frac{1}{3}

by cross multiply....

(2x-2) *3 = (x²-2x-15)1

6x -6 = x²-2x -15

6x+2x = x² +6-15

8x = x²-9

0= x² +8x-9

0 = x² -9x + x -9

0 = x(x-9)+1 ( x-9)

0= (x+1)(x-9)

0= x+1 and 0 = x-9

-1 = x and 9 =x

so the age must not be in negative we will prefer ... 9

the age of rahim is = 9

thank you

hope it helps ❤️❤️
