Here is yr answer......
I think the ques is ----
=> x² - 2x - 8= 0
=> x² - 2x + 4x - 8 = 0
=> x(x-2) + 4(x-2) = 0
=> (x+4) (x-2) = 0
x+4 = 0 => x = -4
x-2 = 0 => x = 2
Sum of the zeros = -4+2 = -2

= > On comparing with ax^2 + bx + c = 0, we get a = 1, b = -8, c = 2.
We know that sum of the roots = -b/a
= -(-8)/1
= 8.
