x ^2 + (x+1 ) ( x+ 1) = 340
x^2 + x^2 + 2x +1 =340
2x^2 + 2x + 1 - 340 = 0
2x^2 + 2x - 339 =0
according to statement,
x^2 + (x+1)^2 = 340
