The sum of the squares of two natural
numbers is 29. If the second number is one
more than twice the first number, find the

Let the two no.s be x and y.

A.T.Q,

x + y = 29

and y = 2x + 1

therefore,

x + 2x + 1 = 29

3x = 28

x =28/3

and y =2x + 1

y = 56/3 + 1

y = 59/3
