The sum of the third and seventh term of an a.p. is 6 and their product is 8. find the sum of the first sixteen terms of the a.p. .

Answer: let third and forth term be a3 & a4. On solving we get two values of a and d . Then we two values also for sum of first sixteen terms. For a=1, d= 1/2 then s16= 76. And for a=5, d= -1/2 s16= 20
