EXPLANATION.

→ sum of zeroes of a quadratic polynomial

= 2.

→ products of zeroes of quadratic polynomial

= -1/3.

Formula of a quadratic polynomial.

→ x² - ( a + b)x + ab = 0

→ sum of zeroes of quadratic equation

a + b = -b/a

a + b = 2 .......(1)

→ products of zeroes of quadratic equation

ab = c/a

ab = -1/3 ......(2)

→ Put the value in equation.

→ x² - ( 2)x + (-1/3)

→ 3x² - 6x - 1 = 0

MORE INFORMATION.

→ D > 0 or [ b² - 4ac > 0 ]

roots are real and unequal.

→ D = 0 or [ b² - 4ac = 0 ]

roots are real and equal.

→ D < 0 or [ b² - 4ac < 0 ]

roots are imaginary.

Answer:

Question

the sum of the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial is 2 and theirs product is -1/3 find the polynomial

To find

Polynomial

Formula used

➡️ x² - ( a + b ) x + ab = 0

Answer

Equation 1

➡️Sum of zeroes of quardtic equation =

a+b = -b/a

a+b = 2

Equation 2

➡️ Product of zeroes of quardtic equation

ab = c/a

ab = -1/3

Putting values

➡️x² - (2)x +(-1/3)

➡️3x²- 6x - 1 = 0
