Given :

Sum of three consecutive even natural numbers is 48

To find : Greatest number

Solution :

Let the three consecutive numbers be x, (x + 2), (x + 4)

Sum of three consecutive even natural numbers = 48

So, Equation formed :

\boxed{x + (x + 2) + (x + 4) = 48}

x + x + 2 + x + 4= 48

3x + 6 = 48

3x = 48 - 6

3x = 42

x=\frac{42}{3}

x = 14

Greatest number among given numbers is (x + 4)

So, (x + 4) = (14 + 4) = 18

Therefore the greatest number is 18.
