Answer:

let the 1st consecutive no. be x

therefore 2nd and 3rd no. is x+1 and x+2

now, according to question,

x+1 + x+2 +x =78

3x + 3 = 78

3(x+1)= 78

x+1=78/3

x+1=26

x=26-1=25

therefore numbers are:-

1st 25

2nd 26

3rd 27

Answer:

The greatest of these numbers is 28

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been mentioned here that the sum of three consecutive even numbers is 78. Let us assume the even numbers to be n, n+2, and n+4 respectively. According to the above-given conditions we have the following below:

n + (n+2) + (n +4) = 78

⇒ 3n + 6 = 78

⇒ 3n = 78 - 6

⇒ 3n = 72

⇒ n = 72 ÷ 3

⇒ n = 24

Therefore the numbers are as follows:

n = 24

n + 2 = 24 + 2 = 26

n + 4 = 24 + 4 = 28

Therefore respective 3 even natural numbers are 24, 26, and 28 , and the greatest of these numbers is 28.
