Answer:

Let the first number be x

Then, the second number = x+2

And, the third number = x+2+2 = x+4

ATQ

=> x+(x+2)+(x+4) = 276

=> x+x+2+x+4 = 276

=> 3x+6 = 276

=> 3x = 276-6

=> 3x = 270

=> x = 270/3

=> x = 90

First no. = x = 90

Second no. = x+2 = 90+2 = 92

Third no. = x+4 = 90+4 = 94

90+92+94 = 276

Given

  • Sum of three consecutive numbers = 276

To find

  • The number

How to solve?

  • We have the sum of the three consecutive numbers, that is 276. For finding the numbers we will let the three numbers.
  • The numbers which we will let should be odd.

Solution

Let the three consecutive even no. be x + 1, x + 3, x + 5.

According to the question,

⇒ x + 1 + x + 3 + x + 5 = 276

⇒ 3x + 9 = 276

⇒ 3x = 276 - 9

⇒ 3x = 267

⇒ x = 267/3

⇒ x = 89

The value of x = 89

The three consecutive no.s -

  • x + 1 = 89 + 1 = 90
  • x + 3 = 89 + 3 = 92
  • x + 5 = 89 + 5 = 94

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Let's verify -

As mentioned in the question the sum of the three consecutive no.s is 276.

So, let's check.

⇒ 90 + 92 + 94

⇒ 276

Hence, verified.
