Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

The sum of three consecutive integers is 4 more than the smallest of the integers.

To find :-

Find the integers?

Solution :-

Let the three consecutive integers be X, X+1 , X+2

The smallest integer = X

The sum of the three consecutive integers

=> X + X +1+ X+2

=> (X+X+X)+(1+2)

=> 3X+3

4 more than the smallest of the integers

=> X+4

According to the given problem

The sum of three consecutive integers is 4 more than the smallest of the integers.

=> 3X+3 = X+4

=> 3X-X = 4-3

=> 2X = 1

=> X = 1/2

1/2 is not an integer .

So it is not correct Question

Correction :-

The sum of three consecutive integers is 5 more than the smallest of the integers.

=> 3X+3 = X+5

=> 3X-X = 5-3

=> 2X = 2

=> X = 2/2

=> X = 1

and

X+1 = 1+1 = 2

X+2 = 1+2 = 3

Answer :-

The three consecutive integers are 1,2,3

Check:-

The three consecutive integers are 1,2,3

Their sum = 1+2+3 = 6

4more than the smallest integer = 5+1 = 6

The sum of three consecutive integers is 5 more than the smallest of the integers.

Verified the given relations in the given problem.
