Given :
- The sum of three consecutive integers is 48.
To find :
- the three integers.
Solution :
⇒ Let's find the consecutive numbers.
- Concept : Here, we have to use a linear equation to create an answer. And to find the answer, we have to use the Transportation method. (Let the consecutive integers be x)
→ x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 48 (Equation created)
→ (x + x + x) + (1 + 2) = 48
→ (3x) + (3) = 48
→ 3x + 3 = 48
→ 3x = 48 - 3
→ 3x = 45
→ x = 45/3
→ x = 15
∴ x = 15
⇒ Consecutive numbers :
→ x = 15
→ x + 1 = 15 + 1 = 16
→ x + 2 = 15 + 2 = 17
- Therefore, the three consecutive integers are 15, 16, and 17.
