Answer:

Let the first multiple of 8 be 8x. Also the third consecutive multiple of 8 will be 8(x+2). => x = 36. If we sum up these three multiples i.e (288 + 296 + 304) we get 888.

Solution :

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{Given\::}}}}}

The sum of three consecutive multiples 8 is 888.

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{To\:find\::}}}}}

The multiples.

\bf{\red{\underline{\bf{Explanation\::}}}}}

Let the three consecutive multiples are;

x is the multiple of 8.

  • 1st number = x
  • 2nd number = x + 8
  • 3rd number = x + 16

A/q

\longrightarrow\sf{x+x+8+x+16=888}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{3x+24=888}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{3x=888-24}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{3x=864}\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{x=\cancel{\dfrac{864}{3} }}\\\\\\\longrightarrow\sf{\orange{x = 288}}

Thus;

\underbrace{\sf{The\:1st\:number=x=288}}}}}\\\underbrace{\sf{The\:2nd\:number=x+8=288+8=296}}}}}\\\underbrace{\sf{The\:3rd\:number=x+16=288+16=304}}}}}
