(14×3 =42)+ (14×4 =56) (14×5= 70) = 168

hence, three consecutive multiples of 14 whose sum is 168 are 42, 56 and 70.

Given :-

The sum of three consecutive multiples of 14 is 168

To Find :-

Multiple

Solution :-

Let the multiples be 14x, 14(x + 1), 14(x + 2)

14x + 14(x + 1) + 14(x + 2) = 168

14x + 14x + 14 + 14x + 28 = 168

42x + 42 = 168

42x = 168 - 42

42x = 126

x = 126/42

x = 3

Therefore

14x = 14(3) = 42

14(x + 1) = 14(3 + 1) = 14(4) = 56

14(x + 2) = 14(3 + 2) = 14(5) = 70
