let the three consecutive terms be 4x, 4(x+1), 4(x+2).

4x + 4(x + 1) + 4(x + 2) = 888

4x + 4x + 4 + 4x + 8 = 888

12x + 12 = 888

Dividing throughout by 12,

x + 1 = 74

x = 74 - 1

x = 73

so,

4x=292

4(x+1)=296

4(x+2)=300

Therefore the three numbers are 292, 296 and 300.

GIVEN :-

  • Sum of three consecutive multiples of 4 = 888

TO FIND :-

  • Three consecutive multiples of 4.

SOLUTION :-

Let,

First multiple = x

Second multiple = x + 4

Third multiple = x + 8

According to the question,

\longrightarrow\sf x+x+4+x+8 = 888 \\\\\longrightarrow 3x+12 = 888 \\\\\longrightarrow 3x = 888-12 \\\\\longrightarrow 3x= 876 \\\\\longrightarrow x = \dfrac{876}{3} \\\\\longrightarrow\bf x = 292

First multiple = 292

Second multiple = 292 + 4 = 296

Third multiple = 296 + 4 = 300

The three consecutive multiples of 4 are 292, 296 and 300.
