Answer:

30

is the biggest multiple.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the smallest multiple of  6  be  6 x

The next multiple is  6 ( x + 1 )

The biggest multiple is

6 ( x + 2 )

The sum of these multiples is

72

6 x + 6 ( x + 1 ) + 6 ( x 2 ) = 72

6 x + 6 x + 6 + 6 x + 12 = 72

18 x + 18 = 72

18 x = 72 − 18 = 54

x = 3

The three multiples are

6 × 3 ,

   6 × 4

   and 6 ×5

6 × 5 = 30  is the biggest

Check: 18 + 24 + 30 = 72
