The three consecutive multiples of 7 are 35, 42, 49.
GIVEN:
The sum of the three consecutive multiples of 7 is 126
TO FIND:
Find the three numbers
SOLUTION:
Let x be a positive number then 7x will be a multiple of 7
then three consecutive multiples of 7 are 7x, 7x+7, 7x+14
Given that sum of the three consecutive multiples of 7 is 126
=> 7x + 7x+7 + 7x+14 = 126
=> 21x + 21 = 126
=> 21x = 126 - 21
=> 21x = 105
=> x = 105/21
=> x = 5
Therefore, the three consecutive multiples of 7 are
=> 7x = 7(5) = 35
=> 7x+7 = 35 + 7 = 42
=> 7x+14 = 35 + 14 = 49
Therefore,
The three consecutive multiples of 7 are 35, 42, 49.
