GIVEN :

  • SUM OF THREE CONSECUTIVE MULTIPLES OF 7 IS 777

TO FIND:

  • GREATEST AMONG THE MULTIPLES

SOLUTION:

LET THE THREE CONSECUTIVE MULTIPLES OF 7 BE X , X + 7 & X + 14

GIVEN SUM THEIR SUM = 777

THEN ,

X + X + 7 + X + 14 = 777

=> 3X + 21 = 777

=> 3X = 756

=> X = 252

THEN ,

X = 252

X + 7 = 252 + 7 = 259

X + 14 = 252 + 14 = 266

∴ THE GREATEST AMONG THREE MULTIPLES = 266 [ option A is correct]

HOPE IT HELPS !!!

Answer:

a)266

let three consecutive no be

7n,(7n+7),(7n+14)

(7n)+(7n+7)+(7n+14)=777

21n+21=777

21n=777-21

21n=756

n=756/21

n=36

therefore, multiple of 7 whose sum is 777 are (7×36),(7×36)+7,(7×36)+14

252,259,266
