Let the multiples be 8a, 8a + 8 and 8a + 16

According to question,

8a + 8a + 8 + 8a + 16 = 264

=> 24a + 24 = 264

=> 24a = 240

=> a = 10

First multiple = 8 × 10 = 80

Second multiple = 80 + 8 = 88

Third multiple = 80 + 16 = 96

Let three consecutive multiples of 8 are x , x + 8 and x + 16.

According to question,

x + x + 8 + x + 16 = 264

3x + 24 = 264

3x = 264 - 24

3x = 240

x = 80

First number = x = 80

Second number = x + 8 = 80 + 8 = 88

and

Third number = x + 16 = 80 + 16 = 96.
