Let the three multiples be 8(x-1) , 8(x) , 8(x+1)
Their sum is 888
so
8(x-1) + 8x + 8(x+1) = 888
8x-8 + 8x + 8x+8 = 888
24x = 888
x = 888/24 = 111/3 = 37
Therefore the three numbers are
1. 8(x-1) = 8(36) = 288
2. 8x = 8*37 = 296
3. 8(x+1) = 8*38 = 304
