Let the numbers be :
x
(x+1) and
(x+2)

Sum = x + (x+1) + (x+2)
⇒ 8 = 3x + 3
⇒ 3x = 5
⇒ x = 5/3

5/3 is not a natural number.
∴ The sum of these numbers equal to 8 is not possible.

I hope it helps you ^_^

Let the three consecutive natural numbers be x,x+1,x+2

Their sum is 8
x+x+1+x+2 = 8
3x + 3 = 8
3x = 8 - 3
3x = 5
x = 5/3
x is not a natural number.
So,the sum of three consecutive natural numbers can not be equal to 8.
