Let the three consecutive numbers are x, x+1 and x+2.

Now, it is given that

x+x+1+x+2=24

3x+3=24

3x=24-3

3x=21

x=21÷3

x=7

Therefore, the 3 numbers are

x=>7

x+1=>7+1=8

x+2=>7+2=9

So, here the first number is 7.

Answer: Option (a)

Ans: 7
