Let first number be x.

Second number will be ( x + 1 ).

Third number will be ( x + 2 ).

Given :-

Sum of three consecutive number is 54.

Solving :-

x + ( x + 1 ) + ( x + 2 ) = 54

3x + 3 = 54

3x = 51

x = 17

So, numbers are

x = 17

x + 1 = 18

x + 2 = 19

Answer :-

So, numbers are 17, 18 and 19.

Thank you.

Hi!!

FIRST LETS UNDERSTAND WHAT ARE CONSECUTIVE NUMBERS.

THESE ARE THE NUMBER WHICH COME CONTINUOUSLY ONE AFTER THE OTHER, LIKE 1,2,3,4 AND SO ON.

NOW LET'S GET BACK TO THE QUESTION.

HERE WE ARE ASKED THAT SUM OF THREE CONSECUTIVE NUMBERS IS 54.

SO AS THE NUMBERS ARE UNKNOWN WE WILL KEEP THE FIRST NUMBER AS x

as these as a set of consecutive number we will write the other number as x+1,x+2

so now we have

x+(x+1)+(x+2)= 54

now open up the brackets and arrange

x+x+x+1+2=54

3x+3=54

now move 3 from LHS to RHS and subtract

3x=54-3

3x= 51

x=51÷3

= 17

first number 17

second number 17+1=18

third number 17+2=19

now total is 54

that's it
