On adding we get,

⇒ x + x + 2 + x + 4 = 54

⇒ 3x + 6 = 54

⇒ 3x = 54 - 6

⇒ 3x = 48

⇒ x = 48/3 = 16

⇒ x + 2 = 16 + 2 = 18

⇒ x + 4 = 16 + 4 = 20

Therefore the numbers are 16, 18 and 20.

Steph0303: Vivek, both odd numbers and even numbers differ by 2 only :) e.g. 1,3,5 differ by 2 as well as 2,4,6,.. differ by 2.
