the sum of three consecutive positive integer is 39 .. find these multiple​

Answer:

let the number be "x"

Then the 3 consecutive numbers are : x, x+1, x+2

The equation will be : x+x+1+x+2=39

3x+3=39

3x=39-3

3x=36

x=36/3

x=12

So,

x=12

x+1=13

x+2=14

Thus the 3 numbers are 12, 13, 14.

-Therefore, x-1 + x + x+1 =3x = 39

-Hence x, the middle number is 13.

-The other two numbers are 12 and 14.
