let the third number be x.

therefore.....

x + (-1/6) + (-2/3) = -1/2

x = 1/6+2/3-1/2

x = (1+4-3)/6

x = 2/6= 1/3

x= 1/3

Answer:

Let the third number be x

According to problem,

-2/3+( -1/6)+x= -1/2

or, -2/3 - 1/6+x= -1/2

or, (-4-1+6x)/6= -1/2

or, (-5+6x)/6= -1/2

or, 2(-5+6x)= -1x6

or, -10+12x= -6

or, 12x = -6+10= 4

or, x= 4/12

or, x=1/3

or, x=0.333

or, x=0.33 (approx.)
