⇒ (a-d) + a+ (a+d) = -3

⇒ 3a = -3

⇒ a = -1

Product = 8

⇒ (a² - d²) a =8

⇒ d² = 9  ⇒ d = ±3

∴ the three numbers in AP are -4, -1, 2.

Sum of the squares of number = (-4)² + (-1)² + (2)²

                                                   = 16 + 1+ 4

                                                   = 21
