Let the numbers are a-d, a and a+d sum 3a= 3
=> a=1
Product (a-d)a(a+d)= -35
=> d= +6 or -6
So the numbers are -5 , 1 and 7
Or 7,1 and -5

ak22nt: To make our calculations simpler.
rohit7681: how??
rohit7681: explain plz??
ak22nt: You can take any other value as long as they are in ap.. But your calculations will be difficult
ak22nt: Ok
Ashutosh1111111111: beacuse d and minus d cancel each other
ak22nt: Exactly
ak22nt: If you take a,a+d, and a+2d you will have to solve two equations to get a
rohit7681: it's quite confusing
ak22nt: Isn't it.

let the numbers be
a-d,a,a+d

sum of terms= a-d+a+a+d=3
3a=3
a=1

AND
(a-d)(a)(a+d)= -35
a(a²-d²)=-35

putting value of a
1(1²-d²)=-35
1+35=d²
d=√36
d=6

So the numbers are : (1-6),1,(1+6)
-5,1,7
This is the correct answer for the given question.

rohit7681: why a-d , a and a+d
Ashutosh1111111111: beacuse we get only a while we add them
