let the three numbers in GP be a/r , a , ar

given:

the sum of the three numbers is -1

(ahh!! this sum is really new to me !!!given the sum and the sum of their square......)

try ... a/r+a+ar= -1

solve it and have it as equation one

and then solve the sum of their squares is equal to 21...and mark it as equation 2

now divide equation 2 by (equation 1)^2

..... you may get the answer

if you didn't get the answer ...try taking the three numbers as a,ar,ar^2 ...and do the above mentioned steps again ....
