GIVEN ;-

⇒ Sum of three numbers = 136

⇒ Ratio between first and second number = 2 : 3

⇒Ratio between second and third number  = 5 : 3

TO FIND ;-

⇒ What is the second number = ?

SOL ;-

Let us  first find the ratio between A : B and B : C,

                   ⇒ A : B =  2 : 3

⇒ B : C =  5 : 3

Now A : B and B : C is -

⇒ 2 : 3 and 5 : 3

⇒ 5 × 3 / 5         :          3 × 3  / 5

⇒ 3 : 9 / 5 is the ratio  of  B : C

And the ratio between all the three number is -

⇒ A : B : C

⇒ 2 ; 3 ; 9 / 5

⇒ 10 : 15 : 9

Now we can find the second number-

⇒ So the second number =136 × 15 / 34 = 60

             SECOND NUMBER = 60

Let three numbers be x, y and z
x : y = 2 : 3 = 5(2:3) =10 : 15
y : z = 5 : 3 = 3(5 : 3) = 15 : 9

So, x : y : z = 10 : 15 : 9
Sum of the numbers = 136
Second number, y = 15/34 × 136
                              = 15 × 4
                              = 60
