Answer:-

Let the first number be x.

Given:

Second number is 2 less than twice the first.

→ second number = 2x - 2

And,

The third number is 5 greater than thrice the first.

→ third number = 3x + 5

Also,

Sum of the numbers = 27

→ x + 2x - 2 + 3x + 5 = 27

→ 6x + 3 = 27

→ 6x = 27 - 3

→ 6x = 24

→ x = 24/6

→ x = 4

Therefore,

  • 1st number = x = 4.

  • 2nd number = 2x - 2 = 2(4) - 2 = 8 - 2 = 6.

  • 3rd number = 3x + 5 = 3(4) + 5 = 12 + 5 = 17.

Step-by-step explanation:

1st- x

2nd- 2x-2

3rd- 3x+5

x+ (2x-2) +(3x+5) = 27

x+2x-2+3x+5= 27

x+2x+3x-2+5= 27

6x-2+5= 27

6x +3= 27

6x= 27-3

6x= 24

x= 24/6= 4

1st- 4

2nd- 6

3rd- 17
