the sum of three prime nos. is 100. If one of them exceeds another by 36 then one of the no. is:
a)7
b)29
c)41
d)67
Answers
Let three prime numbers are X, X+36 and Y.
According to questions,
X +X +36 +Y = 100.
2X +Y = 64 ------------------------- (1)
All three are prime number so 2X should be a even number. Also, to get sum as 100 (even number) Y should be an even prime number i.e 2.
Putting Y = 2
2X +2 = 64
X = 31
Thus, prime numbers are 31, 67 and 2.

Question :- the sum of three prime nos. is 100. If one of them exceeds another by 36 then one of the no. is?
Solution :-
we know that, all prime Numbers are odd Numbers except 2.
we have given that, sum of three prime numbers is 100.
So, we can conclude that, this is only Possible when one of the number is an even number that is 2.
So,
=> first Number = 2
=> Second Number = x Let
=> Third Number = (x + 36)
Than,
=> 2 + x + (x + 36) = 100
=> 2x + 38 = 100
=> 2x = 100 - 38
=> 2x = 62
=> x = (62/2)
=> x = 31 .
Hence,
=> Third Number = 31 + 36 = 67 (D).
