twice of the number=2x

given,  

          2x=5-1/3x+6

         2x+1/3x=5+6

      6x+x/3 = 11

   7x/3 =11

 7x=33

x=33/7

VERIFICATION

2x=33/7x2

    66/7

from equation

                          2x = 5-1/3x +6

                          66/7 = 5-11/7+6

                            66/7 = 35-11+42/7

                                66/7 = 77-11/7

                               66/7 = 66/7

                therefore, LHS=RHS

number =33/7

twice of the number = 66/7  hence proved
