given

x + y = 115°

x - y = 25° .....{ taking difference as 25° instead of 250}

adding above equation,

we get

(x+y) + (x-y) = 115+25

=> 2x = 140

=> x = 70°

putting value of x in above equation

we get

70+y = 115

=> y = 115-70

=> y = 45°
