Let the consecutive even numbers = X+2, X+4

Given sum = 14.

According to the question

x+2+x+4 = 14

2x+6 = 14

2x = 14 - 6

X = 8/2 = 4

X = 4.

finding numbers

X+2 = 4 + 2 = 6

X+4 = 4 + 4 = 8.

Answer = consecutive even numbers are 6 and 8.

Let one number be x
So the other number will be x+2 or x-2
Let's take x+2 to make it easy
So,the equation formed will be
x+x+2=14
2x=14-2
2x=16
x=8
Second number can't be x+2 because then answer will be 18
So,as mentioned earlier let's take x-2
which will be 6
So,the two numbers will be 8and 6
