Solution :-

Let,

• One consecutive even number be ‘x’

So, the other consecutive even number (x + 2)

We have,

• The sum of two consecutive even numbers is 154

Then,

$:\implies\sf x + x + 2 = 154$

$:\implies\sf 2x + 2 = 154$

$:\implies\sf 2x = 154 - 2$

$:\implies\sf 2x = 152$

$:\implies\sf x = \frac{\cancel{152}}{\cancel2}$

$:\implies\underline{\boxed{\blue{\sf x = 76}}}$

∴ One consecutive even number = 76

∴ Other consecutive even number = (x + 2) = 76 + 2 = 78

Verification :-

We have,

$:\implies\sf x + x + 2 = 154$

Substituting the value of x we get,

$:\implies\sf 76 + 76 + 2 = 154$

$:\implies\sf 154 = 154$
