⇒ x = 18

Assume that 2 consecutive even numbers are

2n , 2n + 2

Sum of  two consecutive even numbers is 38

=> 2n + (2n + 2) = 38

=> 4n + 2 = 38

=> 4n = 38 - 2

=> 4n = 36

=> n = 9

2n = 2 (9) = 18

2n + 2= 18 + 2 = 20
