  • The sum of two consecutive even numbers is 38. How do you find the numbers?

\huge\purple{\mathbb{Solution \::-}}

Let the two consecutive even numbers be x and (x+2)

Therefore,

=> x+(x+2) = 38

=> 2x + 2 = 38

=> 2x = 38 - 2

 =  > x =  \frac{36}{2}

=> x = 18

so, the first consecutive number is 18.

Now, the second number is

x+2 => 18 + 2 = 20

Hence the two consecutive even numbers are { \sf{ \color{maroon}{18 \: and \: 20}}}
