We are known to the fact that the consecutive even numbers differ by 2 ( two ).

Hence let the consecutive even numbers be x and ( x + 2 ).

On reading the question carefully we may easily derive and create the following equation which in turn would help us in finding our final answer.

( x ) + ( x + 2 ) = 74
x + x + 2 = 74
2x + 2 = 74
2x = 74 - 2
2x = 72
x = 72 / 2
x = 36

Therefore,

The consecutive even number will be as mentioned below,

x and ( x + 2 )
36 and ( 36 + 2 )
36 and 38

Solutions :-

We have,

Sum of two consecutive even number = 74

Let the one consecutive even number be x
And other consecutive even number be x + 2

Now,

Find the value of x :-

A/q

=> x + x + 2 = 74
=> 2x + 2 = 74
=> 2x = 74 - 2
=> 2x = 72
=> x = 72/2 = 36

Therefore,
One consecutive even number = x = 36
Other consecutive even number = x + 2 = 36 + 2 = 38

Answer : The two consecutive even number are 36 and 38
