Let us take the the no.s as 8x and 8(x+1),

given their sum is 136, So

8x + 8(x+1) = 136

8x + 8x+8 = 136

16x + 8 = 136

16x = 136 - 8

16x = 128

   x = 128/16

   x = 8 ... ... ...1

The largest multiple is 8(x+1)

substituting value of x from .. .. .. ..1

=> 8(8+1)

=> 8 X 9

=> 72

Hope it helped
