Answer:

consecutive multiples of 5

= x , x+5

their sum is 55

so x+x+5 = 55

so 2x = 50

x = 25

so x+5 = 25+5= 30

so the two consecutive multiples of 5 whose sum is 55 are 25 and 30

Given:- the sum of two consecutive multiples of 5 is 55.

To find:- those multiples.

Solution :-

Let assume that the consecutive number be x.

So, the two consecutive numbers will be x and x+1

Then the two consecutive multiples of 5 will be x and x+5

According to question,

⇒ x + x + 5 = 55

⇒ 2x + 5 = 55

⇒ 2x = 55 - 5

⇒ 2x = 50

⇒ x = 50/2

⇒ x = 25

Hence, two consecutive multiples of five will be:

• x=25

• x + 5 = 25 + 5 = 30
