Let the 2 consecutive multiples of 5 be:

  • (x)
  • (x + 5)

According to the Question;

(x) + (x + 5) = 55

⇒ x + x + 5 = 55

⇒ 2x + 5 = 55

⇒ 2x = 55 - 5

⇒ 2x = 50

⇒ x = 50 ÷ 2

x = 25

The next consecutive multiple of 5 after 25 would be:

  • (x + 5) = 25 + 5 = 30

∴ The required 2 consecutive multiples of 5 are 25 and 30

VERIFICATION:

When we add the 2 numbers we get 55 which is given in the question. And also, these 2 numbers are consecutive multiples of 5.
