The numbers are 56 and 63

Given :

The sum of two consecutive multiples of 7 is 119

To find :

The numbers

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Form the equation to find the numbers

Let two consecutive multiples of 7 are 7x and 7x + 7

Since the sum is 119

So by the given condition

\displaystyle \sf 7x + (7x + 7) = 119

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the numbers

\displaystyle \sf 7x + (7x + 7) = 119

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies }14x + 7= 119

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies }14x = 112

\displaystyle \sf{ \implies }x = 8

Required first multiple of 7

= 7x

= 7 × 8

= 56

Required first multiple of 7

= 7x + 7

= 56 + 7

= 63

Hence required two consecutive multiples of 7 are 56 and 63
