let the smaller number be x
x+x+1=99
2x=98
x=49

Answer---

Let the one consecutive number be x then second number (x+1) because it is the natural number.

Now,a/q; x+ ( x+1)=99

2x=99-1

x=98/2

x=49


So the smallest number is 49 and the other number is (x+1)=50.
