b) option is correct

let one no.=x

another no.=x+1

x+x+1=41

2x+1=41

2x=41-1

2x=40

x=40÷2

x=20

one number =x=20

another no.=x+1=20+1=21

Given:

  • The sum of two consecutive natural numbers is 41.

To find:

  • The two consecutive natural numbers

Let the two consecutive natural number be (x) and (x+1)

According to the question,

⇒ x + (x + 1) = 41

⇒ 2x + 1 = 41

⇒ 2x = 41 - 1

[By transporting 1 to RHS]

⇒ 2x = 40

⇒ x = 40 ÷ 2

[By trnasporting 2 to RHS]

⇒ x = 20

Hence,

One number is = x = 20

Another number is (x+1) = 20+1 = 21

  • Option b) 20,21 is the correct answer.
