Step-by-step explanation:

Let the first number be x

Therefore, the second number=(x+1)

As per the question,

x+(x +1)= 65

2x+1=65

2x = 65-1

2x=64

x=64/2

x=32

Therefore, the first number will be = 32

The second number will be 32+1=33

Let the smaller number be x.

Bigger number = (x + 1)

x + ( x + 1) = 65

2x + 1 = 65

2x = 65 - 1

2x = 64

x = 64/2

x = 32

Smaller number = 32

Bigger number = ( 32 + 1)

= 33

Hence the numbers are 32 and 33 respectively.
