Define x:

Let one of the number be x

The other number is (x + 2)

Form equation:

The sum is 124:

x + (x + 2) = 124

Solve x:

x + (x + 2) = 124

x + x + 2 = 124

2x + 2 = 124

2x = 122

x = 61

Find the two numbers:

one number = x =  61

the other number =  x+ 2 = 61 + 2 = 63

Answer: The bigger of the two number is 63

Let sum of two consecutive odd numbers are

2x + 1 and 2x + 3 .

Given sum is 124

According to the question

2x + 1 + 2x + 3 = 124

4x + 4 = 124

4x = 124 - 4

4x = 120

X = 120/4

X = 30

First number = 2(30) + 1 = 61

Second number = 2(30) +3 = 63.
