1st term: x

2nd term: x + 2 (Since it's an odd number, we add 2 because the difference between 2 odd numbers is 2)

x + x + 2 = 21

2x + 2 = 21

2x = 21 - 2

2x = 19

x = 19/2

x = 9.5

Therefore the two terms are x = 9.5 and x + 2 = 9.5 + 2 = 11.5

Hope it helps :)

Equestriadash: How?
HarshitSatyam: The question is saying that sum of consecutive odd numbers and 2 is not a odd no.
Equestriadash: Yes of course 2 is not an odd number. The difference between two odd numbers is 2. So you add 2. For example 3 + 2 = 5 (Which is odd).
Equestriadash: Otherwise also if you add 11.5 and 9.5 you get 21.
HarshitSatyam: In class 7 book same question is given in rs aggarwal.
Equestriadash: Yeah so?
HarshitSatyam: if we add 11.5 and 9.5 we will not get 21
HarshitSatyam: so the answer is wrong.
Equestriadash: Have you even tried adding 11.5 and 9.5? Either you're calculation is wrong or you're just giving blind commentaries.
HarshitSatyam: your answer is correct.
