Given,

The sum of two consecutive odd numbers is 72.

To find,

The numbers.

Solution,

Let us assume that a be the one odd out number. Then the second odd out number would be a + 2.

As it is given that, The sum of two consecutive odd numbers is 72. Therefore,

\begin{array}{l} \Rightarrow a + a + 2 = 72 \\ \Rightarrow 2a + 2 = 72 \\ \Rightarrow 2a = 72 - 2 \\ \Rightarrow 2a =  70 \\ \Rightarrow a = \frac{70}{2} \\ \Rightarrow a = 35 \end{array}

First odd number, a = 35

And second odd number, a + 2 = 35 + 2 = 37.

Hence, the numbers is 35 and 37 respectively.
