HI

Let one no. be X
other no.=( X+2)
A/Q,
X+(X+2)= 216
2X=216 - 2
X= 214/2= 107
therefore no. =107
other no.= 107+2 = 109

Given: Sum of two consecutive positive odd integers is 216.

To find: The smaller number among the two numbers.

Answer:

Let one of the numbers be x.

Difference between two odd numbers = 2 (3 - 1 = 2, 7 - 5 = 2, 19 - 17 = 2).

Therefore the other number will be x + 2.

x + x + 2 = 216

2x + 2 = 216

2x = 216 - 2

2x = 214

x = 214/2

x = 107

Therefore the two numbers are x = 107 and x + 2 = 107 + 2 = 109 and the smaller among the two is 107.

Hope it helps :)
